Research Engineer

Job Description

ORGO's R&D engineers are responsible for bridging the gap between researched technologies and their implementation so that they can be deployed in the market. Our goal is to develop ORGO's unique services and software using a wide range of computer science knowledge and implementation skills, not limited to deep learning and other cutting-edge technologies. In addition to computer-related knowledge, we are also required to learn expertise in our respective business domains. We are looking for people who can actively communicate with people from different backgrounds both inside and outside the company and create new value from this communication.

Duties

  • PoC for service implementation of research results mainly in the form of software

  • Validate and improve the quality of software and services

  • Creation of new implementation methods based on the latest research results from within the company and the world

Qualifications

  • The R&D Engineer we seek has extensive knowledge of computer science and experience using that knowledge to solve complex problems. Specifically, the candidate must have extensive hands-on experience in software development and be proficient in languages such as Python, Go, C, C++, and Java. A deep understanding of computer architecture and the ability to create efficient programs is also essential. Additionally, experience developing and operating web applications is required.

  • Practical experience in problem solving using computer science knowledge.

  • Working experience in software development (Python, Go, C, C++, Java, etc.).

  • Experience in web, client and smartphone app development, library development, and Unix/Linux server operations

  • English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates with experience leading projects as a lead engineer, contributing to open source software, developing systems using cloud services such as AWS and GCP, building CI/CD, and managing infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, etc. are especially welcome. Candidates who are proficient in data analysis techniques using machine learning and statistical tools, and who have proven themselves in programming competitions and data analysis contests, will also be highly valued. Knowledge of natural sciences such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry, and experience in research and development are also welcome qualifications. Experience writing English-language papers and leadership experience in large teams will further enhance project momentum.

  • Data analysis techniques using machine learning and statistical tools

  • Knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry and other natural sciences

  • Experience in research and development

  • Experience writing papers in English

  • Leadership experience in teams of 10 or more

Working hours

10:00-19:00 (1 hour break)

Salary increase & bonus

Based on the result of a individual performance review (twice a year) and company’s performance

Employment Status

Full-time regular employment (3 months of probation period under the same condition as regular employment)
